The latest chapter in the Segunda Division promotion battle will play out in Aragon on Wednesday night as top flight hopefuls Huesca and Cadiz meet. The visitors are in pole position to seal a place in LaLiga for the 2020/21 season but Huesca would really propel themselves into serious automatic promotion contention with victory here.
They have been outstanding at El Alcoraz this season. Their average of 2.24 points per home game is the best in the league although they will feel as though they’ve lost a slight edge without their home support. Indeed their only home game since the restart did end in defeat as they lost 2-1 to Mirandes and they head into this game in 4th place on the back of a 2-2 draw at Albacete.

Victory here in what is arguably their toughest remaining fixture would be a massive step in the direction of the top flight and it would surely put them in a position where only Almeria and Zaragoza could feasibly overhaul them in the battle for one of the two automatic promotion places.
The Andalusians come into this game unbeaten in 5 league matches and while they haven’t set the world on fire since the resumption, a return of 5 points from 3 fixtures has been more than sufficient with their promotion rivals all dropping many points.

The onus really is on Huesca to take the game to Cadiz as they really do need to win it whereas the visitors will be more than content to just add another point to their tally and maintain their 7 point advantage heading into the final 7 games. With fans present, Huesca would have looked good to win this game given their strong home record but having already lost at home since the restart, some of that belief will have eroded away and Cadiz are playing well enough to come here and get a draw to keep their promotion push firmly on track.
