Leganes vs Real Betis Preview

They are all big games from here on in for Leganes who face an uphill battle to secure their league survival. It won’t be easy against a Real Betis side that has plenty of talented players but is struggling to pick up results with any sort of consistency and now looks most likely too far back to mount a serious European push.

Home games are going to be absolutely vital for Leganes if they are going to stand any chance of staying up. Butarque has been something of a fortress for them since they gained promotion to the top flight and they seem to be getting closer to turning it back into one under Javier Aguirre. Their last 8 games overall have seen them win more than they’ve lost with all 3 victories over that period coming at home.

Real Betis meanwhile have only won once away from home all season in La Liga. They’ve only won one of their last seven in the league overall heading into this match, however it’s probably fair to say that some of their performances have warranted more. They were beaten 3-2 at home by Barcelona last time out despite twice taking the lead in an entertaining match at the Benito Villamarin.

They will be missing Nabil Fekir to suspension here which is a real blow as the Frenchman has been their standout performer by some distance this season. They’ll need somebody else to stand up and make a big contribution here on a ground where they have really suffered in recent years.

Leganes vs Real Betis Predictions

Score Prediction: 2-0 Leganes

Betis have a miserable record at Butarque and with Fekir absent, you sense it might continue here. Leganes have rediscovered many of the qualities that have made them so tough to beat at Butarque in recent years. While it’s not a side packed with goal threats, their physical approach could well unsettle Betis again and the likes of Martin Braithwaite and set-piece specialist Oscar Rodriguez may just fire them to another home win.
