Real Valladolid vs Valencia predictions, H2H and match preview for this Saturday’s game in La Liga. Read on for analysis and predicted line-ups as the hosts aim to end their goal drought against Los Che.
Real Valladolid vs Valencia Preview
This fixture is a repeat of the final game of last season when Marcelino’s Valencia secured a 2-0 victory at the Jose Zorrilla to seal Champions League qualification. It was a match that was later the subject of match-fixing allegations but as is often the case in Spain, it may take some time before we truly get to the bottom of that.
Real Valladolid were already safe by that point but they won’t be lacking motivation here as they try to climb their way towards the kind of total that will extend their top flight stay into a third season. What they are lacking right now is goals. Sergio’s side have failed to score in each of their last 5 league outings with no goals since they dispatched Mallorca 3-0 at home at the start of November.
Valencia meanwhile have been starting to find their shooting boots and they’ve only failed to score in one league game so far this season. They’ve had a welcome rest this week with no Copa del Rey action for them following on from a really intense week which saw them claim significant wins away to Levante and Ajax before a tense draw with Real Madrid which saw them come within seconds of completing what would have been a fabulous hat-trick of victories.
Valencia do have some fitness worries heading into this game which could limit their goal threat here though. Both Rodrigo Moreno and Kevin Gameiro are doubts while their other main striker Maxi Gomez remains sidelined through injury. That does leave them short on options in a key area of the pitch although they’ve coped admirably with their injury problems in recent weeks.
Real Valladolid vs Valencia Predictions
Score Prediction: 1-0 Valencia
Real Valladolid just don’t look like they have a goal in them right now and it could be a long winter for them unless they can secure some fresh recruits in January. Valencia’s injury problems are significant but they have a squad to cope and they should be able to still field an eleven capable of winning this game.
