Granada are at home for the second weekend in a row here and they will see this as another good chance to rack up another win which would fire them back into the top six, for a few hours at least. They face an inconsistent Levante side who are hoping to bounce back from derby despair last time out.
Diego Martinez’s Granada have been one of the undisputed stories of the season so far in Spain. Little was expected of them on their return to the top flight but they’d move onto 27 points with victory here and it’d be virtually impossible for them to get relegated from that position. Their strong home record has been pivotal to their success with the Andalusians currently averaging 2 points per home game, a record only three sides can better.
They are up against a Levante side that has won twice on the road so far this term but has lost the other 6. They’ve conceded four goals in each of their last two matches, the most recent of which was a 4-2 defeat at home to city rivals Valencia in a game they had led 2-0. They are perhaps the most inconsistent side in the entire division with their last eight matches also including wins over Barcelona and Real Sociedad as well as a 4-0 defeat to Getafe and a home defeat to bottom club Espanyol.
Both sides have some selection problems heading into this one. Granada have five players out injured and may opt to go 4-4-2 here with Roberto Soldado partnered by Carlos Fernandez up top. Levante could match that but they are sweating over the fitness of Carlos Clerc and Sergio Postigo.

Last weekend’s win was big for Granada as they put in a convincing display to ease fears that their early season bubble had burst. They will take real confidence into this and they should find holes in a leaky Levante defence to exploit. Having only conceded 4 times in 8 home league games so far, Granada will fancy they can keep things quite tight at their own end which should enable them to win the game.
