Real Valladolid vs Mallorca predictions, H2H and match preview for this Sunday’s game in La Liga. Read on for analysis and predicted line-ups as two of the pre-season relegation favourites meet.
Real Valladolid vs Mallorca Preview
Before a ball was kicked this season, Real Valladolid and Mallorca were two of the sides that you might have expected to be deep in the depths of the relegation battle. So far though, there is reason to be positive for both clubs although midweek setbacks leaves both slightly more precariously placed.
Mallorca twice took the lead against fellow new boys Osasuna from the penalty spot but were twice pegged back. Vicente Moreno would have certainly reflected on two points dropped and they remain three behind opponents Real Valladolid heading into this game. It’s also worth noting that Mallorca have played more home games than any other team so far with 7 of their opening 11 games at Son Moix while they are the only team yet to pick up an away point.
Real Valladolid meanwhile have played more away games than anybody else, the latest of which was a 5-1 defeat at Barcelona in midweek. They encountered Leo Messi in sublime form and the result shouldn’t really do any lasting damage to morale in the Valladolid camp heading into what is effectively a much more important game.
Valladolid are unbeaten so far this season at the Jose Zorrilla. They’d drawn three on the bounce there before seeing off Eibar last time out and Sergio will certainly see this as a great chance to chalk up another home victory. For Mallorca it’s imperative they get something you sense otherwise it would be a return of just one point from three straight games against other sides who you’d expect to see in and around the relegation scrap come the final few months in the season.
Real Valladolid vs Mallorca Predictions
Score Prediction: 1-0 Real Valladolid
Mallorca do plenty of good things but there are times when they still look a bit like a Segunda team trying to make it in the top flight. Away from home, they’ve been far less impressive and it’s hard to see logic in backing them to get anything on their travels right now.
