Levante vs Barcelona predictions, H2H and match preview for this Saturday’s game in La Liga. Read on for analysis and predicted line-ups as the Catalans look for a sixth straight league win.
Levante vs Barcelona Preview
Barcelona head to Valencia this weekend hoping to put another three points on the board against Levante. The Catalans returned to the top of the table in midweek with a demolition job on Real Valladolid and they do now appear to be starting to find their feet although they’ll be keen to start performing better on their travels.
Levante can be awkward opponents as high-flying Real Sociedad found out in midweek. Paco Lopez’s side netted two early goals to stun the Basques and they left with an impressive 2-1 victory which just eases them clear of immediate danger. Their home form has been pretty good so far, although they did suffer their first home defeat of the season last weekend in equally surprising fashion against struggling Espanyol.
They won’t exactly be relishing the prospect of trying to stop Leo Messi who put in his best performance of the season to date on Wednesday in the 5-1 win over Real Valladolid. The victory was Barça’s fifth straight league win and they now appear to be in the kind of form which could soon see them break clear at the top and really pile the pressure on the Madrid clubs.
Ernesto Valverde may consider rotating his front three a bit here. Antoine Griezmann should come back in having been left on the bench in midweek while Ousmane Dembele is also back from a ban and he could come in if the Barça boss decides Luis Suarez is in need of a rest.
The hosts also have competition for places in attack. Borja Mayoral and Roger Marti are battling for one position while Enis Bardhi impressed in midweek in midfield and may have done enough to keep his place in the side, particularly given his ability in dead ball situations, which may be one area where Levante will feel they can hurt their illustrious opponents.
Levante vs Barcelona Predictions
Score Prediction: 3-1 Barcelona
Barcelona haven’t been as convincing away from home as they’ve been at Camp Nou but with Messi looking as sharp as he did in midweek, it’s hard to see this Levante defence being good enough to keep the Catalans out for long. Barcelona should record their sixth straight league win here.
