Osasuna vs Barcelona predictions, H2H and match preview for this Saturday’s game in La Liga. Read on for analysis and predicted line-ups as the new boys take on the defending champions.
Osasuna vs Barcelona Preview
This has the makings of an intriguing game with Osasuna unbeaten at home in the league in 17 months taking on the title favourites Barcelona. Clearly the Pamplona outfit haven’t come up against anyone on Barca’s level during that long unbeaten home streak but they will be encouraged by the number of key players their opponents will have to leave behind here.
For the second week running, Leo Messi, Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele are all likely to be missing. However that didn’t stop Barca putting five past a sluggish Betis side last weekend. Rafinha and youngster Carles Perez should keep their places on the flanks for this one with Antoine Griezmann expected to lead the line following his brace last time out. The Catalans will be hungry to avoid another early season slip-up having been defeated in the Basque Country already this season by Athletic.
Osasuna actually come into this game a point above Barcelona in the table. There has only been one goal scored in their two matches so far, netted by Chimy Avila in the win at Leganes. They did though see their 17 match home winning streak ended last time out with a draw against Eibar but coach Jagoba Arrasate will be delighted that his team is yet to concede.
That suggests this Barcelona forward-line will have to work hard to forge their openings in this game. Osasuna’s approach is likely to be to try and keep it tight again in the hope that they can nick a goal from a set-piece or perhaps another moment of magic from Avila.

Osasuna vs Barcelona Predictions
Score Prediction: 1-0 Barcelona
Betis made it a bit too easy for Barcelona at times last weekend but it will be a very different kind of task here for the Catalans against a side that will be more content to defend deep and scrap for every ball. There were some encouraging signs for Ernesto Valverde last weekend with some of his younger players catching the eye while Sergi Roberto was assured in midfield. Messi will be missed of course but it will be difficult for Osasuna to keep it tight for ninety minutes and the visitors should scrape a win.
