Rayo Vallecano vs Real Valladolid predictions, H2H and match preview for this Sunday’s game in La Liga. Read on for analysis and predicted line-ups as the visitors aim to secure survival.
Rayo Vallecano vs Real Valladolid Match Preview
This game promised to be a big six-pointer but in the end it will only matter for one of these teams. Rayo Vallecano were relegated last weekend with defeat at Levante coupled with other results sealing their fate. Valladolid on the other hand picked up a vital win and this is another massive football match for them. Depending on the outcome of it and the other games, they could finish the day either mathematically safe or in the relegation zone with matters out of their own hands come the final day.
Rayo would have settled for that but ultimately they will be faced with the task of rebuilding for another Segunda Division promotion push next term. They are quite familiar with that but they will be without Raul De Tomas, their top scorer in each of the last two seasons. He will appear in a Rayo shirt in Vallecas for the final time here before heading back to Real Madrid and then most likely elsewhere in the summer.
Valladolid will be fired up for this one after a vital 1-0 win over Athletic Club last time out. They may lack the quality of almost every other team in this division but in terms of fighting spirit and togetherness they certainly aren’t lacking. Had they had a De Tomas in their ranks, they may have comfortably beaten the drop this season as they’ve been pretty solid at the back but top scorer Enes Unal has just 5 goals, 9 fewer than R.D.T. for relegated Rayo.
Rayo’s chances here aren’t helped by suspensions to Adrián Embarba and Mario Suárez and Paco Jemez may use the game to give one or two of his fringe players a go to assess them better in a match situation. Valladolid meanwhile shouldn’t rock the boat too much with last weekend’s hero Waldo Rubio set to earn another start.

Rayo Vallecano vs Real Valladolid Predictions
Score Prediction: 1-0 Real Valladolid
Betting Tip: Valladolid Win
Had Rayo still been in with a chance, you might have fancied them but they were really poor last time out at Levante and it’s hard to see them being able to match Valladolid’s intensity now the home team’s survival hopes are over. The visitors may be able to sneak a vital win.
