Levante vs Rayo Vallecano predictions

Levante vs Rayo Vallecano Match Preview

There have been plenty of key games already for these two clubs in their respective battles for safety. However with just two matches remaining after this, there is no longer any margin for error and victory here would be massive for either side. Levante would move onto 40 points if they can get it, which would ensure they finish above Rayo and would almost certainly be enough to keep them up. However a Rayo win would make things really interesting and would keep Paco Jemez’s side very much alive heading into the final two games.

Rayo did beat Levante earlier in the season so they’d also have the better Head-to-Head were they to win this game, which could prove very significant. Having beaten Real Madrid last time out, Rayo will take confidence into this one and they are also boosted by the return of Raul De Tomas who was ineligible to face his parent club and was also unavailable for their previous game. That offers them a bit more cutting edge and if they can match the level of performance they showcased against Los Blancos, they will certainly have a chance.

Levante have also played pretty well in their last two games though. They hammered Betis 4-0 and then made Barcelona really work to wrap up the title at the weekend. They used an uncharacteristically defensive approach in that game but we should see them back to a more adventurous 4-3-3 here.

The hosts are sweating over the fitness of key man Jose Luis Morales though. He is suffering from an ankle problem and it will be a major boost for Rayo if he is ultimately ruled out. Elsewhere Enis Bardhi and Nikola Vukcevic are battling for a start in midfield.

Levante vs Rayo Vallecano Predictions

Score Prediction: 2-2 Draw

Rayo pretty much have to win this game to stand a realistic chance of staying up so they should come out to try and take the game to Levante. That in turn will create space for the Valencia side on the break which may suit them and much like many of their recent home matches, this has the potential to be an end to end contest with chances at both ends of the pitch. Rayo will have been revitalised by that win over Real Madrid and look capable of getting a result but it’s still a big ask for them to come here and get the win they need.
