Rayo Vallecano vs Leganes predictions, H2H and match preview for this Monday’s game in La Liga. Read on for analysis, betting tips and predicted line-ups ahead of this Madrid derby.
DATE/TIME – Monday 4th February, 21:00 (Spanish Time)
STADIUM – Vallecas
COMPETITION – La Liga
This is a Madrid derby which may not rank as the fiercest in the Spanish capital but is one with plenty riding on it heading into this game. Both Rayo and Leganes certainly have to be viewed as relegation candidates but things are looking a great deal brighter for the home team now after some fine recent wins that saw them clamber out of the drop-zone.
Other results this weekend leave Rayo back in 18th but level on points with Leganes in 17th here. Victory for either would fire them to at least 13th, which would represent some turnaround for a Rayo side who have been in the bottom three for virtually the entire campaign. They’ve taken 13 points from their last 5 outings though and have been getting the job done in Vallecas where they always receive excellent backing.
Leganes meanwhile have been accumulating points but there have been a lot of draws for them this term which has prevented them from pulling clear of the relegation scrap. They are hampered by an injury to Guido Carrillo, who has been so key to their attacking threat this season and has formed the basis for their direct approach. However Youssef En-Nesyri has also been impressive and is capable of doing a similar kind of job.
Lega have already won on this ground this season but it was a game in which both teams rested key men in the Copa del Rey. Here they take on a much more confident Rayo side, boosted by a win last Monday at Alaves and it’s also one that has scored 8 goals in their last 3 home league games.
Rayo Vallecano vs Leganes Predictions
Score Prediction: 2-2 Draw
Betting Tip: Both Teams to Score @ 2.00 with Spin Palace Sports
This could be a more open game than many are expecting. Rayo are always positive at home but you can never be quite confident about their defence and Leganes’ strikers should pose problems both in the air and on the break which should given them opportunities to get on the scoresheet here so goals at each end look likely. The hosts are the favourites but the absence of Santi Comesana to suspension is significant and this could well end all square.
Rayo Vallecano vs Leganes H2H
- Last 5 meetings: 2 Leganes Wins, 3 Draws.
- These sides haven’t met that often in recent times with this season’s reverse fixture the first in 14 years.
- Leganes won that game 1-0 at Butarque.
- They also progressed from a Copa del Rey tie between the sides, winning 1-0 at Vallecas in December.
One to Watch – Martin Braithwaite

Martin Braithwaite has added a new dimension to Leganes’ attack since his January move. With Guido Carrillo a doubt, he could start again here and his pace should pose problems on the break.
