Getafe are back in Valencia, just a few days on from a bad-tempered Copa del Rey tie at the Mestalla that ended with Rodrigo scoring twice in Stoppage Time to send Getafe packing. It would also spark a brawl that would require the police to move onto the pitch break up. There are unlikely to be any scenes quite like that here but Getafe will need to pick themselves up, both mentally and physically for this one.
As far as Levante go, they’ve been able to focus on La Liga. They were hammered 5-0 at Sevilla last weekend so will need a response here but they have generally responded well to adversity this term. They developed a bit of a reputation as away specialists earlier in the campaign thanks largely to their impressive counter-attacking play. However they have actually managed 6 wins in 9 at home in all competitions, something that will certainly please Paco Lopez.
Getafe have also been strong on the road but you have to wonder what damage the last week has done. Two away games have ended in defeat with them having just nine players. As a result, they have some significant selection problems here with three players suspended, while fatigue could also be a factor following a busy month of cup action where they haven’t rotated that much.
They are a side that has always pushed the law to the very limit but they’ve clearly gone a bit overboard this week and that ill discipline may well have a serious knock-on effect here. Levante will feel this is a brilliant time to be playing against Jose Bordalas’ side.

Ordinarily you’d fancy Getafe to get a result here but they will be tired both mentally and physically after a bruising week. They are also missing their two first-choice central defenders to suspension. With Djene Dakonam and Leandro Cabrera out, they will be far more vulnerable through the middle and with Levante’s two forwards enjoying good seasons, a home win looks likely here.

With Getafe suffering from significant defensive problems due to those suspensions, Roger Marti will fancy he can add to his 9 league goals this term.
