DATE/TIME – Sunday 25th November 2018, 20:45 (Spanish Time)
STADIUM – Ceramica
COMPETITION – La Liga
#VillarrealRealBetis
This Sunday’s clash at the Ceramica is certainly one of the most intriguing this weekend in La Liga. It features an underperforming Villarreal side who are yet to win at home and a Real Betis team that will be hoping to prove their recent win in Barcelona was no flash in the pan. They will certainly head to Villarreal in a positive frame of mind and this promises to be a good one.
‘Fun’ Betis looked to have disappeared when they started this season with a sequence of low-scoring games where opponents sat deep and Quique Setien’s men struggled to break them down. However up against more attack-minded Celta Vigo and Barcelona sides in their last two games, the goals have been flying in at both ends again with Betis coming into this on the back of a 3-3 draw and a 4-3 win in La Liga.
Villarreal meanwhile come into this following 4 straight draws in all competitions, the most recent of which was a fairly entertaining 2-2 draw at Rayo Vallecano. A first league goal for teenager Samuel Chukwueze outlined his potential and he backed that up by making his Nigeria debut in midweek. He could provide some much needed energy in midfield for a Villarreal side that has needed to change something with things really not going well for under-pressure boss Javier Calleja.
He is in a job, perhaps due to the lack of an obvious replacement as much as anything but Villarreal fans are now starting to lose faith in their inexperienced boss. Betis will most likely try to replicate their gameplan from a fortnight ago at Camp Nou where they took calculated risks and broke in numbers at times to stun their illustrious hosts and this also has the potential to produce a few goals too.
Villarreal vs Real Betis Predictions
Score Prediction: 2-2 Draw
This is another tough one to call. Villarreal are the favourites but it’s hard to fancy them in a season where they’ve failed to win at home in La Liga. Betis are the side with a much clearer identity and style of playing but it should be mentioned that despite that brilliant performance at Camp Nou, they are only 12th and they clearly aren’t the complete package yet. A score draw looks likely here.
Villarreal vs Real Betis H2H

Samuel Chukwueze has had quite a fortnight. The 19 year old mifielder scored on just his 2nd ever appearance in La Liga last time out and then made his debut for Nigeria in a friendly on Tuesday. He should keep his place here and looks to have a big future.
